Johan Nordström nominated as new chairman of Sweco’s board

February 17, 2014 | Press release

Sweco’s nominating committee proposes Johan Nordström as the new Board Chairman. The nominating committee also proposes re-election of the sitting board members Anders G. Carlberg, Tomas Carlsson, Gunnel Duveblad, Eva Lindqvist, Pernilla Ström and Carola Teir-Lehtinen. The nominating committee’s proposal means that the number of board members elected by the general meeting would decrease to seven, from the current eight.

“Sweco has shown outstanding development in recent years and this is an appropriate occasion to pass on chairmanship to a new individual who can contribute new ideas and perspectives. Johan Nordström knows the company well through his role as one of the principal shareholders, and has relevant experience from other companies and board assignments,” says Olle Nordström, Sweco’s current Board Chairman and chairman of the nominating committee.

Johan Nordström has been a member of Sweco’s board since 2012 and works as President of the family company Skirner AB. He was born in 1966 and holds a degree in architecture from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (KTH). Johan Nordström is currently chairman of Besqab AB and a member of the boards of Hemfrid i Sverige AB and Sparbössan Fastigheter AB, among others.

“In Johan Nordström, Sweco will gain an engaged and competent Chairman. I would also like to extend my gratitude to Olle for his deep commitment to the company and his ability to achieve effective board performance by involving all members. During his 14 years as Board Chairman, Olle Nordström has been a key driver for Sweco’s development,” Tomas Carlsson, President and CEO of Sweco.

Sweco’s nominating committee consists of Gustaf Douglas, representing Investment AB Latour, Birgitta Resvik, representing Stiftelsen J. Gust Richerts Minne, and Olle Nordström, representing Skirner Förvaltning AB. The nominating committee’s complete proposal will be presented in the notice to attend Sweco’s Annual General Meeting.
