August 19, 2005 | Press release

In a short span of time, SWECO VIAK has been awarded three new assignments in Estonia. The company has been selected to treat contaminated soil and modernise systems for water and wastewater treatment on contracts worth a total of over EUR 1 million.

– Together with our companies in Estonia and Lithuania, we are engaged in a number of environmental improvement projects in the Baltic countries,” says Per Johansson, Managing Director of SWECO VIAK.

SWECO VIAK has been commissioned to remediate a number of contaminated sites and waterways in Estonia that were previously used for military and industrial purposes and have been damaged by substances such as oils and chemicals. SWECO VIAK has also been awarded two consulting contracts for the modernisation of water and wastewater treatment systems at several locations in Estonia.

The assignments will be carried out in collaboration with SWECO VIAK’s Estonian subsidiary SWECO Eesti and a local Estonian company. All of the contracts are EU-funded.
