Sweco strengthens its position within European hospital design
Sweco has been commissioned for three new hospital projects in Belgium, Germany and Norway. Sweco’s combined experience and competence within hospitals have been key when winning these projects. The company’s experts will advise in architectural as well as technical matters. The overall result will be hospitals that meet both today’s high standards and tomorrow’s demands for patient security and modern technology.
“Sweco has a long and successful history of healthcare projects throughout Europe which is one of the key reasons why Sweco won these projects. Sweco’s previous knowledge and extensive experience in designing modern hospitals will be leveraged as we combine technical expertise and architectural experience with deep knowledge of a hospital’s complex business operations,” says Tomas Carlsson, President and CEO of Sweco.
Through these projects, Sweco will create the best possible conditions for high quality care that puts the patients first. In Germany, Ludes Generalplaner GmbH, part of Sweco Germany’s architecture practice, will be part of the construction planning for the new hospital ward at the Stadelheim prison. In Belgium, Sweco is part of a multidisciplinary team that will design the Complexe Hospitalier Régional Sud, a sustainable and connected hospital on a health campus., In Norway, Sweco will be a part of a consortium that have won the contract for the concept phase for a new regional hospital in Gaustad, Oslo.
Sweco has extensive experience in healthcare projects throughout Europe, with previous projects including New Karolinska Hospital and Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Sweden, Kajana Central Hospital in Finland and the Charité University Hospital in Germany.
