SWECO forms Estonia’s largest consulting engineering company

December 1, 2006 | Press release

SWECO is continuing to expand in the growth markets of Eastern Europe through the formation of SWECO Projekt, Estonia’s largest engineering consultancy with 220 employees.

SWECO Projekt will be created through a merger between the companies SWECO Eesti, ETP Grupp and Eesti Projekt. A formal decision about the merger has been made by each company. SWECO will be the majority shareholder in the new company.

”SWECO Projekt will have a market-leading position in Estonia and the capacity to offer the clients a wide range of qualified consulting engineering services, which are increasingly in demand by both local companies and international investors,” says Per Johansson, Managing Director of SWECO Eastern Europe.

SWECO Projekt offers a wide range of consulting services in areas such as water and environment, architecture, structural engineering, building service systems and infrastructure.

Earlier this year, SWECO acquired the Lithuanian consultancy LSPI which joined forces with SWECO’s subsidiary SWECO BKG to form Lithuania’s largest consulting engineering company with a total of 160 employees.

”With 500 consultants in our new Baltic companies and earlier establishment in St. Petersburg, we are now the largest player in this region. This gives us a solid base from which to continue expanding our presence in Central and Eastern Europe,” says Per Johansson.
