SWECO wins new environmental contract in Russia
SWECO VIAK has been awarded a new assignment in northwestern Russia. The contract is worth over EUR 540,000.
SWECO VIAK has been selected to assist the municipal water and wastewater utility in the city of Arkhangelsk to modernise its operations. The long-term goals of the assignment are to improve the quality and delivery reliability of drinking water and to minimise emissions from the wastewater system.
”We are currently involved in around 20 projects throughout Russia that are aimed at various types of environment improvements,” says Per Johansson, Managing Director of SWECO VIAK.
The highly expansive Russian market for water and environmental consulting services is valued at over EUR 160 million annually. In July this year, SWECO VIAK acquired 50 per cent of the Russian environmental consultancy Lenvodokanalproekt.
The assignment is being financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Sida.
