November 10, 2016 | Press release

Sweco has signed two new contracts – one with the Regional Water Management Authority in Wrocław and one with the Regional Water Management Authority in Szczecin – to provide consulting services for the Odra-Vistula Flood Management Project – component 5.4.  The project, which is being co-financed by the World Bank, aims to improve flood protection for people living in the area.

“Ensuring and improving flood protection is one of the most important factors in securing the sustainable social and economic development of a region or country. Being selected for these projects in Poland is a testament to Sweco’s recognised expertise in flood protection”, says Ina Brandes, President of Sweco Central Europe.

In this unique project for Poland, Sweco will provide consulting services to the Regional Water Management Authority in Wrocław and the Regional Water Management Authority in Szczecin. This includes the preparation of detailed design and tender documents, verification of existing designs, supervision services for construction work, and preparation of environmental and social safeguard documents.

The combined value of the contracts is PLN 117 million (approximately SEK 265 million; EUR 27 million). The contracts will take approximately 78 months to complete.
