Sweco signs strategic collaboration agreement with Vattenfall

October 25, 2010 | Press release

Sweco and Vattenfall have signed a multi-year strategic agreement for joint development in the energy sector. Through the agreement, Vattenfall will secure access to technical expertise and Sweco will be ensured a stable platform for ongoing expansion.

”As a result of agreement, we at Sweco will immediately intensify our efforts to recruit and train new staff with a focus on the energy sector,” says Erik Severin, President of Sweco Energuide.

For many years Vattenfall has been a very important client for Sweco and the motive behind the long-term agreement is to create conditions for the two companies to focus on their respective core competencies when dealing with challenges in the energy area.

“Sweco has expertise in a wide range of areas that can be useful in developing new energy solutions. We are working continuously to expand our client offering and can assemble strong consulting teams with the capacity to handle the initiatives launched by Vattenfall,” says Eva Nygren, President of Sweco Sweden.

After the signing of this agreement, Sweco will double its hiring rate in the energy area to around 150 employees per year.
