SWECO grows in Eastern Europe – forms Estonia’s largest engineering consultancy
SWECO has signed a Letter of Intent to merge its subsidiary SWECO Eesti with the consulting engineering companies ETP Grupp and Eesti Projekt. The merger will create Estonia’s largest engineering consultancy, with more than 200 employees.
The formation of the new company represents an additional step in SWECO’s strategy to expand in the growth markets of Eastern Europe.
“We are now advancing our position in Estonia by forming the country’s largest engineering consultancy. As the market leader the new company will be able to offer clients a wider range of consulting services, for which we are seeing a rising demand from both local companies and international investors. At the same time, SWECO will gain a strong new platform for ongoing growth in the region,” says Per Johansson, Managing Director of SWECO Eastern Europe.
SWECO will be majority shareholder in the new company, which will provide services in water and environment, architecture, structural engineering, building service systems and infrastructure.
SWECO has previously established subsidiaries in Russia, Lithuania and Bulgaria.
