Sweco acquires architectural company in Finland
Sweco continues to grow in Finland through the acquisition of the Finnish firm Brunow & Maunula Architects with 18 employees. With this acquisition Sweco Architects can offer wider range of architectural services in Finland.
While embracing architectural design, urban design and city planning widely in all disciplines Brunow & Maunula Architects is one of Finland’s leading offices in residential architecture and housing design.
The company was founded in 1980 by Anna Brunow and Juhani Maunula. They will both continue as managers of the company.
In 2011 Brunow & Maunula was awarded with the State’s Prize for Architecture for their high quality in architecture and expertise. The prize is considered the highest honorary recognition in architecture in Finland.
Sweco Architects is one of the largest architectural firms in Europe, with offices in several of the Nordic countries. The acquisition of Brunow & Maunula has strengthened Sweco’s Finnish architectural organisation. Earlier this year Sweco also acquired the Finnish engineering consultancy company FMC Group, with 1,100 employees. Sweco is now the second largest engineering consultancy in Finland with approximately 1,700 employees.
