Two new environmental assignments for SWECO
SWECO has been commissioned to modernise the wastewater treatment plants in Oxelösund and Sala in two consulting assignments worth a combined SEK 12 million.
In Oxelösund, water quality along the shore will be significantly improved through the addition of a biological nutrient removal process. In Sala, emissions into the Sagån river will be reduced when the plant implements nitrogen removal technology. In both assignments, SWECO’s environmental consultants have been chosen to act as an agent for the building contractor.
“We have been entrusted with the task of supervising activities from detail planning and procurement to completion of modernisation measures. It is both challenging and somewhat unusual to be given this type of total responsibility over a period of several years,” says Per Johansson, Managing Director of SWECO VIAK.
SWECO carries out many similar assignments in both Sweden and international assignments. At present, SWECO’s environmental consultants are working to upgrade and modernise wastewater treatment plants in locations such as Henriksdal and Gothenburg. SWECO is also taking part in planning and design of new wastewater treatment plants in the Baltic countries, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Russia.
