Lighting design
Lighting design that creates comfort and security
Light has influenced and shaped our lives throughout history. Therefore, lighting that creates safe, accessible, and pleasant spaces is an important and effective design tool in architecture. Well-adapted lighting in the built environment harnesses natural light while engaging our senses.
To perceive and interpret our surroundings, we primarily rely on our vision. What we see is the light that reaches our eyes, which affects us consciously, subconsciously, and biologically. Light carries information and is linked to expectations and our well-being – a ray of morning sunlight through a darkened window can impact the start of the day.
Lighting designers with a focus on human perception
Our lighting designers always start with human vision to create attractive and healthy environments. We work with daylight as an integrated part of architecture and urban planning, considering the site’s conditions to shape a lighting environment that enhances the well-being of users. This can involve bringing life to dark streets, creating the right atmosphere in meeting rooms, or illuminating parks to highlight nature. It can also mean leaving areas unlit to preserve the night.
Our expertise is both technical and visual, with a design process that includes practical, theoretical, and quantitative methods. We use physical models, sample lighting, integrated 3D projection, and parametric design in close collaboration with clients and architects.
Lighting design outdoors and indoors, in all environments
Our projects encompass a wide range of areas, from architectural and interior lighting design to lighting design for urban and culturally sensitive environments, lighting for infrastructure, daylight analysis and planning, and product development.
Good lighting design creates visual conditions in harmony with the surroundings and preserves the balance between light and darkness for sustainable cities of the future.
