Many countries in Africa lack a functioning power grid, both in the cities and in rural areas. Rural electrification makes people’s everyday lives easier and contributes to social progress. Sweco is working to improve access to electricity in several locations in Africa.

Sweco is addressing this problem in several locations, among other things on behalf of Botswana Power Corporation. Rural electrification makes people’s everyday lives easier and contributes to social progress. Local businesses are provided with a reliable source of power and new jobs are created. Significant environmental gains are also made when the diesel generators that currently supply many regions with electricity can be replaced.
