Culture and recreation

Sweco has considerable experience in creating recreational and sporting facilities – flexible and inspiring spaces for competition and play, but also relaxation and rest.

Our architects and structural engineers work together in everything from feasibility studies to structural engineering and design. Our building services engineers are involved in the early stages of projects to prevent moisture problems in indoor swimming centres and create energy-efficient solutions. Sweco also has qualified project managers and consultants with the know-how to solve logistical problems and traffic flows around arenas and stadiums.

Sweco has taken part in designing numerous Olympic and world championship venues and other types of sporting facilities such as football, ice hockey and track and field arenas, as well as ski stadiums and ski jumps. In addition, Sweco is active in planning and dimensioning of tourist facilities for both winter and summer use.
