Commercial buildings

Sweco has in-depth expertise in planning and design of commercial space for both new construction and renovation/rebuilding projects. The assignments are carried out in close collaboration with owners and developers and in dialogue with the people who will use the properties in the future. Sweco is also accustomed to handling rebuilding projects where the existing tenants remain on site during the construction process.

Sweco uses architecture and design as tools for shaping stimulating, functional and appealing environments. A healthy and comfortable indoor climate is important in all areas where people work, meet or spend time. Because heating, cooling, ventilation and lighting are key parameters in creating an optimal retail experience, our architects, structural engineers, building services engineers and project managers are often involved in the early stages of a project when the general principles for a building’s design are established.

Sweco’s commercial projects range from retail development in city centres and peripheral areas to redevelopment of existing shopping centres and the establishment of new ones, individual shops and retail chain concepts. The assignments vary widely in size, from enormous facilities covering more than 100,000 square meters to small, exclusive boutiques for high profile brands both in Sweden and abroad.
