Multi-task industrial commission in Uruguay

Sweco provides engineering and project management services for a hydrogen peroxide plant in Uruguay.

The chemicals producer Kemira has built a hydrogen peroxide plant in Fray Bentos, Uruguay, close to an existing pulp mill. The hydrogen peroxide produced here is used as a bleaching chemical in the adjacent pulp mill’s processes.

Sweco was responsible for pre-engineering and cost estimates and was later also commissioned for project management, procurement and all engineering disciplines. The design work included process simulations, 3D modelling of the plant layout and piping systems, equipment, electrification, instrumentation, automation, HVAC, sanitation and fire protection. Sweco also performed the project’s risk analyses and site supervision during the installation phase.
